This shifter is specically for the 88-91 aluminumb topped SM465 transmissions put in these trucks.
The thread on the knob is a course thread 12-1.75 thread and different than the standard thread SM465 knob on the 73-87 trucks.
It will ONLY fit the 88-91 style shifter knob and aluminum top SM465 case.
